The Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near St. Louis is a delightful crossover that is fuel efficient and fun to drive. Not only that, but it also offers a lot of seating and is perfect for a family vehicle. Today we want to take a look at the history of the Chrysler Pacifica, where it started and how far it has come.
Chrysler entered the crossover vehicle segment for the first time in 2004 with a vehicle called the Pacifica. The same chassis used by Chryslers minivan line-up served as the basis of the Chrysler Pacifica. The 2004 Chrysler Pacifica was offered as a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configuration. Standard power for the 2004 Pacifica was derived from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine.
The 250-horsepower V-6 engine of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission incorporating an AutoStick shifter. Attempting to showcase the Pacifica as a luxurious alternative to the minivan, Chrysler included a sizable complement of standard equipment on the crossover vehicle. 17-inch aluminum wheels, air suspension, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and leather-wrapped steering wheel were all included on the 2004 Chrysler crossover vehicle.
Three-row seating came standard on the 2004 Pacifica providing interior accommodations for six occupants. In 2005, with the addition of Touring and Limited trim levels, the third row seating was no longer included on the base model of the Chrysler Pacifica. For 2006, 200-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 engine replaced the 3.5-liter powerplant as the base propulsion of the crossover. The following year, the Chrysler Pacificas older engine was replaced by a 4.0-liter V-6 powerplant generating 255 horsepower. (This information was compiled from nadaguides.com and chrysler.com.)

The Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Wentzville is probably one of the most iconic vehicles in American history. It started out as a utility vehicle designed to help the effort in Europe during World War II and grew into a lifestyle. There are Jeeping groups all over the St. Louis area that take adventures in their Jeep Wranglers. Today we want to take a look back at when the Jeep Wrangler was formally introduced nearly 50 years after its original design.
Outwardly resembling the Jeep CJ-7, the Wrangler, which was formally announced in February 1986 at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show, was based on a new set of design parameters. “The product philosophy behind the two vehicles” François Castaing (AMC VP of Product Engineering) explained, “is completely different”. Just like the Willys MB and the Jeep CJ, Wranglers continue to use a separate body and frame, rigid solid axles both front and rear, a fold-flat windshield, and can be driven without doors. But its suspension, drivetrain, and interior were borrowed from the new Cherokee (XJ) model.
The Wrangler debuted in 1986 as a new model after discontinuance of the famous Jeep model (CJ). It was revised in 1996, and completely redesigned in 2006. In addition to the model name Wrangler, each model received a designation corresponding to its generation: YJ (1986–1995), TJ (1997–2006), TJU’s (commonly known as LJs- 2004–2006 Unlimited models, or YJL, in the Egyptian owners manual.), JKU (2007–present Unlimited models) and JK (2007–present). Foreign military versions of the Wrangler have carried the J8 designation which was initially dubbed TJL when first produced at Arab American Vehicle’s Egyptian plant. (This information was partially compiled from Jeep.com.)

“Big Johnny was by far the best salesman I’ve ever had to work with! He was so nice and friendly and honestly just relate-able. He never once made us feel pressured or like we were just customers. He made us feel like family.” – Jacob
This is my first time buying a car, I had gone to a dealership before this one who treated me horribly as they saw me as a 20 year old who will do whatever they want. Big Johnny was so kind from the moment we met him, he did so much to get exactly what I wanted and everything he told me was the truth and to help me in the long run. I will recommend this place to all of my friends and tell them to make sure to go to Big Johnny. I’m in love with my Dodge Charger and being a 20 year old and having one is one of the biggest blessings. Also the finance manager was amazing and very helpful getting my payment plan together. I can’t thank you guys enough! Thank you so much Johnny, I’ll be coming here for all my car purchases! -A huge fan of the Dodge Charger

Those in the know, know that the Jeep Renegade is the crossover SUV to get if you want to have a great off road adventure and a smooth highway drive. We are really pleased to announce that for the 2017 model year that Jeep is expanding this model line!
Jeep is continuing to expand the Renegade subcompact crossover SUV model line with the addition of two new trims: the Altitude and the Deserthawk.
Like other Jeep models to previously wear the Altitude badge, the 2017 Jeep Renegade Altitude lands on the lot with a host of exterior and interior features dolled up in Gloss Black. This includes the crossover’s 18-inch wheels, badging, seven grille rings, and taillamp surrounds. Although the Altitude is available in a variety of colors, the interior is limited to just one—black.
Based on the $22,490 Renegade Latitude, the $23,385 Altitude includes features such as a rearview camera and proximity key with push-button start. A 160-hp 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission is standard; however, $1330 buys a bigger, 180-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is available with either powertrain for an extra $2000.
“The 2017 Jeep Renegade Deserthawk, meanwhile, appears to be little more than a U.S.-spec version of the Renegade Desert Hawk the brand revealed at the Paris auto show, itself based on a concept Jeep trotted out at its Easter Safari event in 2015. Despite its name being condensed to one word, the Deserthawk wears the same Moab map on its hood, U.S. Army–style star decals on its D-pillars, and black-painted, 17-inch wheels that can be found on the European Desert Hawk.”-caranddriver.com

We cannot begin to tell you how much we love the Dodge Charger at All Star Dodge Ram near St. Louis. It is a great reminder of the golden days of the muscle car and our love of classic American muscle. What we have not loved so much is that we are not going to get to see the new redesign of the Dodge Charger until 2020! Let’s talk about it!
In its five-year strategy announcement for Dodge made in May 2014, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ [NYSE:FCAU] target date for redesigning the Challenger and Charger muscle cars was calendar year 2018. In 2015 we heard that the redesign might be delayed until 2019, and now we’re hearing that the delays might stretch even further.
“Citing one source at FCA and another at a supplier, Automotive News (subscription required) on Monday reported that the redesigned Challenger and Charger will be delayed until calendar year 2020. The sources said the cars are to adopt FCA’s Giorgio platform, which debuted in the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia, and will likely arrive as 2021 models.”-motorauthority.com
Both the Challenger and Charger are now expected to receive a second significant update to keep them fresh. The first such update was introduced for the 2015 model year.
Updates for the Challenger will be arriving soon. An all-wheel-drive Challenger GT is expected for the 2017 model year and has already shown up on the EPA’s website. A new range-topping model potentially labeled the Challenger ADR is also in the works. This model will get the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 and some much-needed wider tires.
Is it possible the redesigned Dodge Charger will come sooner than expected after the announcement that FCA will put $1 billion into its Michigan plants? We will have to wait and see!

One of America’s most favorite cars is the Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge near St. Louis. It is spacious, fun to drive, and very family friendly. This model is also getting a little shaken up with the introduction of the Shaker concept. We want to explore a little more about this new Shaker Durango.
Dodge’s Durango Shaker concept, on display at the 2016 SEMA show, adds more fuel to the speculation that a Durango SRT is in the works within the walls of FCA’s headquarters. Fitted with a 6.4-liter V-8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Durango Shaker is a B5 Blue bombshell of a performance SUV with the potential to be the Mercedes-AMG GLS63 for the every-man. “As its name implies, the Shaker’s true pièce de résistance is its shaker hood scoop that works with a custom cold-air-intake system to help feed fresh air to the 392-cubic-inch engine. A cat-back exhaust with center-located tailpipes pushes out what’s left of the combustion process. Although Dodge didn’t supply power or torque figures for the Shaker, we’d venture to guess that the V-8 at least matches the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT’s 6.4-liter V-8 engine, with its 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.” -caranddriver.com
Perched on a set of meaty 22-inch wheels and tires, the Durango Shaker sits three inches lower than its stock counterpart. A redesigned front end sports a crosshair-less grille and a big front splitter, while a pair of hollowed-out headlights from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat sit where fog lights would normally take residence. Tinted headlights and taillights, distinct lower-body cladding, a custom rear spoiler, and Satin Black detailing throughout the car, including on the hood, roof, and rear liftgate, give the Shaker a properly menacing appearance.
