Ram 3500: Super Truck

Ram 3500 at All Star Dodge Ram near Mehlville

If you are one of the many hard working people in the St. Louis area, you might need a truck that can keep up with your hard work. If this sounds like you, then you need to get the super Ram 3500 at All Star Dodge Ram near Mehlville.

The Ram 3500 is the sort of truck that gives even a temporary owner a powerful urge to stop off at Tractor Supply Co. for a Carhartt jacket, steel-toed work boots, and rawhide gloves. And maybe 20 rolls of barbed wire, a couple dozen bags of cement, and one of every welder they sell. That’s what this big Ram is all about: work. You can outfit the interior with lots of fancy options— really somewhere around $18,045 in extras, but most of that can go to work-related enhancements. (This amount may not be totally accurate, talk to a member of the All Star team for a more exact figure.) Still, upscale features like leather, navigation, heated seats, premium audio, and Uconnect telematics spread only a thin veneer of civilization over a primordial brute with a work ethic that makes your average Calvinist look like a slacker.

“To put the Ram 3500 into perspective, here are some noteworthy numbers: 385 horsepower, 900 lb-ft of torque, up to 7390 pounds of payload capacity, 31,210 pounds of maximum towing capacity. The turbo-diesel V-8s in the Ford and GM behemoths huff up more horsepower than does the Ram’s 6.7-liter straight-six, but the Cummins engineers keep mining more torque, with an increase of 35 lb-ft over the 2015 version.”-caranddriver.com

Don’t just take our word for it, head to All Star today and check out the Ram 3500. Take a test drive and feel the power that this Ram has to offer!

What Makes a Great Dealership?

All Star Dodge Ram Dealership near St. Peters

We know that in the St. Louis area there are a lot of different car dealerships from which you can buy your new car. The thing to remember is that not all dealerships are the same. Unfortunately, there are some dealerships that give you the run-around and treat their customers terribly. Thank goodness All Star Dodge Ram near St. Peters is not like those dealerships. All Star is a top notch, full service dealership that has a philosophy that is customer focused. Being customer focused is just one way that All Star sets itself apart – let’s take a look at some other qualities of a great dealership.

Another great attribute of All Star is that their team is responsive. You should expect a dealership to respond quickly and often to your inquiries. If you request an online quote, for example, you deserve a fast response. This is an indication that the dealership values your time as much as you do.

The service team knows what they are doing, but why not test them out yourself before buying a new or used car from All Star. If you have the time and motivation, consider taking your current car to a prospective dealership for an oil change. Think of this as a dealership test drive. Take note of the service and advice you receive. If the experience is a good one, then you know you can rely on that dealership to provide quality auto service on your new car too.

These are just a few reasons that All Star Dodge Ram is a great dealership. We encourage you to stop by and talk to the team. They would love to show you a fantastic customer experience.

How Does Car Service Work?

Service at All Star Dodge Ram near St. Louis

It would seem that getting your Dodge, Ram, Jeep, or Chrysler serviced at All Star near St. Louis is really easy, and for the customer it is, but there are actually a lot of things happening to make sure that you have a great experience and to ensure that your vehicle gets the servicing it needs. Today we want to take a quick look at the processes that take place to ensure a quality repair.

While every dealership is a little different, most processes are the same. When a customer first pulls into a dealership’s service drive, they are greeted either by a service consultant or a porter who will direct them to an available service consultant.

The service consultant then will ask what the customer needs help with, and write up a repair order describing the work to be performed. Once that’s done, the customer signs the repair order–which often has an estimate of the repair costs on it–and heads to the waiting area or gets a ride home or a loaner vehicle, if the car will be in the shop for a while.

Once the repair order, or R.O., is complete, the service advisor will either hand it to a dispatcher, who will assign the work to a technician, or if the dealership does not use a dispatcher, the advisor will assign the work directly.

Once this is done, the technician brings the car to his or her work bay, and begins working. In most cases, whether performing an oil change or major repair work, the technician will need to order parts for the job. Sometimes these parts come from the dealership’s own parts department. Then the repairs begin.

Cross Over to this Crossover!

Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near St. Louis

The Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near St. Louis is a delightful crossover that is fuel efficient and fun to drive. Not only that, but it also offers a lot of seating and is perfect for a family vehicle. Today we want to take a look at the history of the Chrysler Pacifica, where it started and how far it has come.

Chrysler entered the crossover vehicle segment for the first time in 2004 with a vehicle called the Pacifica. The same chassis used by Chryslers minivan line-up served as the basis of the Chrysler Pacifica. The 2004 Chrysler Pacifica was offered as a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configuration. Standard power for the 2004 Pacifica was derived from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine.

The 250-horsepower V-6 engine of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission incorporating an AutoStick shifter. Attempting to showcase the Pacifica as a luxurious alternative to the minivan, Chrysler included a sizable complement of standard equipment on the crossover vehicle. 17-inch aluminum wheels, air suspension, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and leather-wrapped steering wheel were all included on the 2004 Chrysler crossover vehicle.

Three-row seating came standard on the 2004 Pacifica providing interior accommodations for six occupants. In 2005, with the addition of Touring and Limited trim levels, the third row seating was no longer included on the base model of the Chrysler Pacifica. For 2006, 200-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 engine replaced the 3.5-liter powerplant as the base propulsion of the crossover. The following year, the Chrysler Pacificas older engine was replaced by a 4.0-liter V-6 powerplant generating 255 horsepower. (This information was compiled from nadaguides.com and chrysler.com.)

Jeep Wrangler – An American Icon

Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Wentzville

The Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Wentzville is probably one of the most iconic vehicles in American history. It started out as a utility vehicle designed to help the effort in Europe during World War II and grew into a lifestyle. There are Jeeping groups all over the St. Louis area that take adventures in their Jeep Wranglers. Today we want to take a look back at when the Jeep Wrangler was formally introduced nearly 50 years after its original design.

Outwardly resembling the Jeep CJ-7, the Wrangler, which was formally announced in February 1986 at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show, was based on a new set of design parameters. “The product philosophy behind the two vehicles” François Castaing (AMC VP of Product Engineering) explained, “is completely different”.  Just like the Willys MB and the Jeep CJ, Wranglers continue to use a separate body and frame, rigid solid axles both front and rear, a fold-flat windshield, and can be driven without doors. But its suspension, drivetrain, and interior were borrowed from the new Cherokee (XJ) model.

The Wrangler debuted in 1986 as a new model after discontinuance of the famous Jeep model (CJ). It was revised in 1996, and completely redesigned in 2006. In addition to the model name Wrangler, each model received a designation corresponding to its generation: YJ (1986–1995), TJ (1997–2006), TJU’s (commonly known as LJs- 2004–2006 Unlimited models, or YJL, in the Egyptian owners manual.), JKU (2007–present Unlimited models) and JK (2007–present). Foreign military versions of the Wrangler have carried the J8 designation which was initially dubbed TJL when first produced at Arab American Vehicle’s Egyptian plant. (This information was partially compiled from Jeep.com.)
