It’s Coming!

Dodge Challenger at All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri

There have been rumors swirling for months, but now it is really happening! The Dodge Challenger Demon is coming to dealerships, including All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri! This powerful sports car is sure to get your blood pumping! Don’t just take our word for it, we want you to experience it for yourself! However, that is not going to keep us from telling you about it here today!

In a news release from Friday, the company said the limited-production 840-horsepower car – “the industry’s first and only purpose-built, street-legal production drag car” – is on its way to dealers. The car goes 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and has a 6.20-liter Hemi V8 engine.

The Demon is the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car, as certified by the National Hot Rod Association, according to the Detroit Free Press. Tests found the car can travel a quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. It has a top speed of 168, according to Popular Science.

“The people who bought a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon are performance enthusiasts to the core, and having a custom car with accessories that improve overall performance is critical,” said Tim Kuniskis, Fiat Chrysler North America’s head of Passenger Cars, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT.

Only 3,300 will be produced and prices start at $84,995. Customers can also receive plenty of extra accessories. While the mega-muscle car has been highly anticipated by fans, its production hasn’t been without controversy, the Free Press reports.

A top trade publication, Automotive News, wrote an editorial seeking to ban Demons from the street: “The 840-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Demon from Fiat Chrysler is so inherently dangerous to the common safety of motorists that its registration as a road-worthy automobile should be banned,” it says.

We think that the drivers should decide. Get to All Star today and get your Dodge Challenger!

Used Car Benefits

Used Cars at All Star Dodge near Ladue

We know that you know that All Star Dodge near Ladue has a HUGE selection of used cars. What you might know is that there are a lot of great benefits of buying a used car from All Star. We want to share some of those benefits with you here today.

Sales Tax Savings – Every ad for a new car glosses over the tax issue. Many state laws subject new cars to state sales tax, but not used cars. In Georgia, for example, if you buy a used car from a private seller, you won’t owe any sales tax at all. The laws in Missouri and Illinois are different, so be sure to check with a member of the All Star finance team for information on your specific information. Comparatively, the sales tax that dealers have to add to the price of a new car can be thousands of dollars. Don’t underestimate the savings, and research your state’s laws on the subject before you make a decision.

Cheaper Registration Fees – “In most states, the rate of your annual registration fee is based on your car’s value and its model year. In Colorado, for example, registration fees fall dramatically during the first few years after a car is manufactured. The rate is highest in the first three years, and then levels off after five years. If your state has similar rules, you can save about a thousand dollars by avoiding the new car registration fees and buying a car that’s at least three, or better yet five, years old.”-moneycrashers.com

To check out some of the different vehicles that are currently on the used car lot, head to All Star today. Their team is ready to help you!

More Shots of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer in Missouri

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the latest Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer in Missouri. We have been getting glimpses of what the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited might look like, thanks to some spy shots. Today we want to share with you more of what we saw in those spy shots.

The latest shots show a prototype for the 4-door Wrangler Unlimited while earlier shots showed a test mule for the 2-door Wrangler. Both are due to be revealed late this year or early next, likely as 2018 models. A debut during November’s 2017 Los Angeles auto show is a strong possibility. From the shots, it’s clear the design will be evolutionary.

The boxy silhouette of the new Wrangler, the JL series, looks almost identical to the current JK, seen in one of the shots. Up front will be round lights and a slatted grille, while out back we can see square-shaped taillights similar to those on the current model albeit with an hourglass design.

We can also see similar door cut-lines to the current model, helping to retain the familiar rugged design cues of past Wranglers. Other signature Wrangler cues include the extended front bumper, exposed door hinges and chunky side mirror caps.

“The latest prototype to be spotted is sporting BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A tires, and they appear to be KO2s. Mounted in the center of the tailgate-mounted spare tire appears to be a backup camera setup.”-motorauthority.com

We really are getting super excited about the newest Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Soon you will be able to get this wonderful Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer. We hope to see it on the Jeep dealership lot sometime in November, but we still are not sure when. Keep your eyes out for the new Unlimited!

What to Do After an Auto Accident

Collision Repair Center at All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri

While we would rather that they never happen, auto accidents are a reality in the world that we live in. Do you know what you should do in the event that you are in an accident? Today we want to share with you a few steps that you should take in the event that you are in a collision.

1. Never drive away from the scene of an accident, even a minor one. Stop and handle the situation.

2. You can prevent further accidents by setting up flares, or keeping your flashers on. If it is dark and your lights don’t work, you should have a flashlight to keep you safe while you wait in your disabled car or by the side of the road.

3. Even if there are no serious injuries, it is a good idea to call the police. You may need a police report to file a claim with your insurance company, even if it is just to make a claim for damage to your vehicle. The vehicles involved in the accident should remain where they are, unless they interfere with traffic.

4. Make sure that you have a accurate record of what happened. The police will be able to help sort everything out and provide a report on the accident.

5. Seek medical attention, even if you think that you are not injured. After a collision, adrenaline is pumping through your body, making it difficult to sense pain. Let the paramedics give you a good once over to make sure you are not injured.

6. Take pictures and exchange contact information.

Once you have things wrapped up and are ready to go to the repairs process, bring your vehicle to the collision repair center at All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri. They have all of the tools, parts, and knowledge to get your car back to its pre-collision glory!

No Shame in Loving a Minivan!

Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near Arnold

For a long time, the minivan has had a negative connotation. Driving a minivan meant that you weren’t cool anymore. Gone are the days of sporty sedans, you had kids, you don’t get to drive something fun any more. At least, this is what the common thought was, however, Chrysler is changing the way we think about minivans with the introduction of the Chrysler Pacifica.

The Chrysler Pacifica entered the market as a replacement for the Town and Country. And while it still looks like a minivan in some ways, it drives more like an SUV.  Navigating the roads in the rolling hills of Southern Missouri a few weeks ago, it didn’t take long to find out. A revised 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine delivered 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, making the climbs up Missouri’s hills effortless. Likewise, the new nine-speed automatic transmission never strained or felt clunky, like it has in other recent products like our long-term Jeep Cherokee. The harmonious combination of the upgraded engine and transmission felt like the single-biggest differentiation between the old and new minivans.

Chrysler boasts that the Pacifica’s new unibody structure provides a stiffer foundation, which in turn provides sedan-like agility. But let’s not get carried away. No one will confuse this minivan – or any other – with a 300 sedan in terms of driving dynamics. But as minivans go, the Pacifica felt responsive with minimal levels of body roll.
The exterior look of the car is also brand new. Gone is the frumpy, toaster-like shape of the Town & Country and Grand Caravan. The wheelbase remains exactly the same, but engineers shortened the front overhang and lengthened the rear one, giving the Pacifica a more rectangular shape. Corners have been rounded and side-view mirrors are body-mounted.

Do You Know How to Buy a New Chrysler?

New Chrysler Cars at All Star in Missouri

Just about anybody can buy a new Chrysler at All Star in Missouri, but do you know how to buy a new car? It is so much more than just picking out which vehicle you want to buy. There are a few more steps to take in the process to help you insure that you get the very best deal and the right vehicle for your driving lifestyle.

  1. Determine the type of vehicle you need. Once you’ve established the kind of vehicle that fits your lifestyle, it’s time to choose the model you want. Do your research on the Internet before going to a dealership. Talk to others who have the same kind of car – what do they like about it? What do they NOT like about it? How do the gas mileage and insurance cost compare to your current vehicle? Are there features you want your vehicle to have that are not available or come standard on another model? These are all things to consider when purchasing a new vehicle. Having a good idea of what you want is a good idea, but don’t “marry” yourself to just one. Keeping two or three options open will allow you flexibility if, for any reason, something goes wrong along the way.
  2. Just before visiting the dealership, you can usually check out their inventory online to make sure they have the vehicle of your choice in stock. If you head out, ready to buy, only to find out they don’t have one and you can’t even complete a test drive, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment from the start.

All Star has an amazing selection of new and used Chrysler Cars, stop by the dealership to check them all out!

Dodge Ram Used Cars – Perfect for Long Term

Used Cars at All Star Dodge Ram in MIssouri

It is widely known that Dodge has been innovator in the auto industry since the early days, as in the early days of the car itself. It is this long legacy that makes each Dodge Ram model such a great vehicle. They are built to last. This means that when you decided to by a Used Car from All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri, you are getting a vehicle that will last you a long time. We want to share with you a little bit about the Dodge brothers that started this long lasting legacy.

The Dodge Brothers were skilled machinists from a modest background. John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge were two of the three children of Daniel Rug and Maria Dodge of Niles, Michigan. They attended public schools, but learned the machinist’s trade from their father, who ran a shop specializing in internal combustion engines for marine use. The inseparable brothers built the first bicycle in Niles.

Horace Dodge invented a four-point, dirt proof, adjustable bicycle ball bearing and in 1897 the two brothers established the Evans & Dodge Bicycle Company with Fred S. Evans and leased the Typograph Company plant for two years. In 1900, they sold their interests, returned to Detroit, and established a machine shop in the Boydell Building on Beaubien Street at Lafayette. They began with only twelve employees, but quickly established a reputation for excellent workmanship. Ransom E. Olds erected the first automobile plant in Detroit in 1899 and by early 1901 the Dodge machine shop supplied him with engines. Olds followed with an order for 3,000 transmissions in 1902, making the Dodge brothers one of the largest parts suppliers for the nascent Detroit automobile industry.(Some of this information was compiled from dodgemotors.com). The Dodge brothers grew their knowledge from a small bike shop to a manufacturing empire.

Don’t Skip Maintenance!

Service at All Star Dodge Ram in Missouri

We love our Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Chrysler vehicles. They are fun to drive, they are comfortable to ride in, and they are just all-around great quality vehicles. But what happens if you don’t take car of your Dodge Ram vehicles, will they be ok? Is skipping maintenance a big deal? Let’s explore this today.

The long and short of it, is that you cannot skip auto maintenance. But there are some very big reasons why. Technology in cars like electronic fuel injection and electronic control units certainly have simplified servicing and “tuning” a car if the right computer equipment is used but they have also made the process more involved for the mechanic (technician) who must be trained to a higher level.

There is much more to servicing a modern car than simply giving it a “grease and oil change.” The old $35 dollar grease and oil might have passed muster a decade ago but is in most cases insufficient attention for a new car with its many sophisticated systems.

“Car servicing can involve up to 50 or more component and system checks and adjustments. And despite complaints about the cost from some car owners, it’s worth the money. Maintaining the engine in peak economy, performance and emissions condition requires electronic monitoring and fine adjustment according to the diagnostic computer read out.”-carsguide.com

A correctly serviced and tuned engine will have a longer, more economical service life than one that is run into the ground with minimal or inappropriate attention. It can also pre-warn or potentially major problems with the engine and transmission.

The best offense is always a good defense. To get your Dodge Ram vehicles properly cared for, head to All Star in Missouri. Their service department is ready to serve you!
