Jeep Renegade at All Star Jeep Dealer in Bridgeton
If you have a rebellious spirit and like to take your adventures off road, then you need to get a Jeep Renegade at All Star Jeep Dealer in Bridgeton. It is a powerful SUV that is incredibly maneuverable and yet rides amazingly smooth. We want to take a look back at how the Renegade started.
The Jeep Renegade (BU) is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by Jeep. It is built in Melfi, Italy (alongside the related Fiat 500X); Goiana, Brazil (alongside the recently launched Fiat Toro); and in Guangzhou, China. It was first shown to the public in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show and mass-production started in late August of that year. The Renegade is the first Jeep product to be produced exclusively outside of North America and will sell in South African, European, North American, and Brazilian markets.
The Renegade offers two four-wheel drive systems Active Drive I and Active Drive Low, both of which are paired with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain System. It also has an available My Sky dual panel removable roof. The My Sky can be either retracted like a standard sunroof or removed completely for a more open-air experience, similar to that of the Jeep Wrangler.
At one time it was believed that the Renegade would replace the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup, but the Renegade has since been clearly identified by Jeep as being in a smaller class than the MK twins. (This information was compiled from jeep.com and nadaguides.com.)

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer near Ellisville
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer near Ellisville is a super capable off road SUV that is designed to handle the roughest terrains. What you might not know is that the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, while sometimes held out as its own model, is actually a trim of the Jeep Wrangler model. The main difference between the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is that the Wrangler Unlimited is actually longer than the regular Wrangler. Some would say that the Wrangler Unlimited is better equipped to handle really rough terrain, but that is just the opinion of some individuals. Today we want to talk a little bit about the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited model and some of the changes it has seen through the years.
Jeep made no major changes to the 2009 Wrangler Unlimited, adding start assist, a sway control system and some minor storage upgrades. In 2010, Jeep added a removable soft top, and made fog lights, towing hooks and a compass standard in the base model, as well as making some slight changes to the trims. The 2011 Wrangler Unlimited featured a newly designed interior that boasted bigger windows, offered powered mirrors, all-new climate control, Bluetooth integration and a few other minor changes.
The 2012 model year featured a standard V6 engine that was rated at 285 horsepower with a standard five-speed automatic transmission and 4WD. In 2013, Jeep added a system that monitored tire pressure and updated a few trim levels. The 2014 Wrangler Unlimited remained unchanged from the previous model year. Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Wentzville
The Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Wentzville is probably one of the most iconic vehicles in American history. It started out as a utility vehicle designed to help the effort in Europe during World War II and grew into a lifestyle. There are Jeeping groups all over the St. Louis area that take adventures in their Jeep Wranglers. Today we want to take a look back at when the Jeep Wrangler was formally introduced nearly 50 years after its original design.
Outwardly resembling the Jeep CJ-7, the Wrangler, which was formally announced in February 1986 at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show, was based on a new set of design parameters. “The product philosophy behind the two vehicles” François Castaing (AMC VP of Product Engineering) explained, “is completely different”. Just like the Willys MB and the Jeep CJ, Wranglers continue to use a separate body and frame, rigid solid axles both front and rear, a fold-flat windshield, and can be driven without doors. But its suspension, drivetrain, and interior were borrowed from the new Cherokee (XJ) model.
The Wrangler debuted in 1986 as a new model after discontinuance of the famous Jeep model (CJ). It was revised in 1996, and completely redesigned in 2006. In addition to the model name Wrangler, each model received a designation corresponding to its generation: YJ (1986–1995), TJ (1997–2006), TJU’s (commonly known as LJs- 2004–2006 Unlimited models, or YJL, in the Egyptian owners manual.), JKU (2007–present Unlimited models) and JK (2007–present). Foreign military versions of the Wrangler have carried the J8 designation which was initially dubbed TJL when first produced at Arab American Vehicle’s Egyptian plant. Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Illinois
When you are shopping for a great Jeep to drive, you might wonder which Jeep at All Star Jeep Dealer near Illinois would be best for you. We are going to talk about the Jeep Patriot and the different things that it offers to its drivers.
Here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. the Patriot uses either the 2.0 L or 2.4 L World gasoline I4 engine. (In Europe and Australia there are some different engine types.)Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available. The Patriot features two four-wheel drive systems both of which are electronically controlled. The basic four-wheel drive system is called Freedom Drive I. This system is a full-time front-wheel-drive based 4WD/AWD system that is front-wheel-drive when it has traction, but can automatically put up to 20-30% power to the rear wheels, or can be locked in 50-50 below a certain speed. The other system, called Freedom Drive II, is based on Freedom Drive I, but by using the vehicle’s CVT transmission it is capable of a 19:1 gear reduction simulating a low range usually found in vehicles with dedicated transfer cases. The 2.4 L GEMA I4 is an option for the 4X2 model Patriot. (The Patriot uses a continuously variable transmission equipped with a four wheel drive system, marketed as Freedom Drive II, capable of holding the lowest ratio the CVT can reach, in lieu of a traditional two-speed transfer case. The Patriot carries Jeep’s “Trail Rated” badging.)
In 2009, Jeep Patriot added an extended range electric vehicle to its trim line up. It was not well received and lacked the driving power most Jeep drivers want, so FCA got rid of this model. (This information was compiled from Jeep.com.)

Jeep Grand Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Florissant
“Where are you going?” This is a question that is asked to find out, in the short term, where you are going. What if we expanded the scope of the question to mean in the long term? This long term question is one that Jeep asked itself in the early 1990’s. Jeep had been a successful auto maker for a long time but were looking for a way to begin competing with the larger scale SUV models that were on the market.
Three trim levels were initially offered; base, Laredo and Limited. All models boasted two features not seen on other vehicles in the Grand Cherokee’s class: a driver’s side airbag and four-wheel antilock brakes. Base models had a few notable features such as full instruments, cloth interior and a five-speed manual gearbox. The Laredo added body cladding, fancier seats, power mirrors and cruise control. And the top-of-the-line Limited came with leather seating, A/C, four-speed automatic transmission, upgraded sound system and power everything. Later in the 1993 model year, the Grand Wagoneer debuted — essentially a G.C. Limited with simulated woodgrain tacked onto the body sides, just like dad’s old Ford LTD Country Squire Wagon.
Built on a stiff unibody chassis, which was lighter than a truck-like body-on-frame arrangement, the Grand Cherokee’s 105.9-inch wheelbase was 4.5-inches longer than the Cherokee’s, resulting in more legroom for those riding in the back. (This information was gathered from edmonds.com and jeep.com.)
This new Jeep Grand Cherokee model was so well received that it became a permanent part of the Jeep line up and added several other trim options. We invite you to head to All Star near Florissant and check out the incredible trims that the Jeep Grand Cherokee has to offer. The All Star team is waiting and ready to help!
Jeep Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood
The Jeep Cherokee is a long time favorite in the Jeep line up. It has been around since the early 1970’s and people have always seemed to love it. Today we want to talk a little bit about the history of the Jeep Cherokee. You can also learn more about the Jeep Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood.
Prior to 1984, the Cherokee moniker was attached to what amounted to a sportier version of Jeep’s Wagoneer. Mostly unchanged since its debut in the early 1960s, the Wagoneer was a large, truck-based, four-door wagon with four-wheel drive.
The former Cherokee, introduced as a 1974, shared most everything with the Wagoneer, including dimensions and engine selections. The major differences between the two were that the Cherokee was initially available only as a two-door (with the same wheelbase and length as the Wagoneer) and the Cherokee cost less than the more luxurious Wagoneer. A four-door Cherokee joined the lineup in 1977.
The 1984 Cherokee shared nothing with its predecessor, save its name. A shorter wheel- base (over 7 inches less than the “old” model, at 101.4 inches) and overall length (at 165.3 inches, a decrease of 21 inches) combined with a much lighter weight of around 3,100 pounds (over 1,000 pounds less than before) went a long way toward better fuel mileage and easier maneuverability, on-road or off. Two-door and four-door body styles were offered.
“Styling for the trim Cherokee was chiseled and taut, with muscular wheel well flares and a tall greenhouse that afforded good visibility for driver and passengers alike. The interior continued this theme with a likewise simple dash and control layout. Seating capacity was listed as five, though it was tight for three adults to ride in the backseat.”-edmonds.com

In November 2016 FCA unveiled the Jeep Compass compact SUV and its plan to manufacture the product in major emerging markets including India and Brazil. FCA India has already invested $280 million at its plant Ranjangaon facility to roll out the new compact SUV.
Jeep Compass will be launched in India in August 2017 and we expect the Jeep to price the SUV around $20-25k .
During the global unveil, of the vehicle, at the 2016 LA Motor Show, Mike Manley Head of Jeep brand – FCA Global said, “Our all-new 2017 Jeep Compass enters an extremely important and growing segment worldwide, and does so with an unmatched list of attributes that includes benchmark 4×4 off-road capability, exceptional on-road driving dynamics, fuel-efficient powertrains, countless advanced technology and safety features, all wrapped in a premium, authentic Jeep design.”
“Jeep Compass SUV is based on the ‘small wide 4X4 architecture’ that underpins the Jeep Renegade. It can be regarded as a compact SUV and globally will be available in four different trim configurations. We are not sure if FCA India will adopt the same or different strategy here. The SUV will be a bit longer than the Renegade but will not be a sub-4 meter car.”-indiatimes.com

Jeep is continuing to expand the Renegade subcompact crossover SUV model line with the addition of two new trims: the Altitude and the Deserthawk.
Like other Jeep models to previously wear the Altitude badge, the 2017 Jeep Renegade Altitude lands on the lot with a host of exterior and interior features dolled up in Gloss Black. This includes the crossover’s 18-inch wheels, badging, seven grille rings, and taillamp surrounds. Although the Altitude is available in a variety of colors, the interior is limited to just one—black.
Based on the $22,490 Renegade Latitude, the $23,385 Altitude includes features such as a rearview camera and proximity key with push-button start. A 160-hp 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission is standard; however, $1330 buys a bigger, 180-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a nine-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is available with either powertrain for an extra $2000.
“The 2017 Jeep Renegade Deserthawk, meanwhile, appears to be little more than a U.S.-spec version of the Renegade Desert Hawk the brand revealed at the Paris auto show, itself based on a concept Jeep trotted out at its Easter Safari event in 2015. Despite its name being condensed to one word, the Deserthawk wears the same Moab map on its hood, U.S. Army–style star decals on its D-pillars, and black-painted, 17-inch wheels that can be found on the European Desert Hawk.”-caranddriver.com

There are so many people in this great country that love the Jeep Wrangler. There are clubs devoted to the Wrangler and driving them. One change that we know is coming to the Jeep Wrangler in 2018 is the addition of a pick-up truck trim. While this model will not be available at All Star near Mehlville until late 2017 to early 2018, we are still excited to see what will be on the new Wrangler, lets explore this today!
Jeep will continue with rugged body-on-frame construction to serve the off-roading aspirations of its faithful and multiplying constituents. That said, the coming edition will use modern materials to cut weight and boost mileage. Expect a hydroformed steel ladder frame carrying a body made of high-strength steel, aluminum, and plastic. A four-door pickup will join the lineup of two- and four-door models with hard- and softtops. Today’s 3.6-liter DOHC V-6 will soldier on with manual and automatic transmissions. Fiat Chrysler’s current product plan also includes a turbo-diesel alternative in the near term and a hybrid after 2020, along with a possible turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder code-named “Hurricane” making around 300 horsepower.
There has been talk about some competition coming for the new Jeep Wrangler trim. “The Wrangler is without peer, a gully-busting rock climber you can drive to work. Compact crossovers bow in its presence. A new Land Rover Defender, expected next year, may re-invade this sphere, though at twice the price.” -caranddriver.com
There are some big expectations on what will make the cut for the pick-up truck trim on the Wrangler, and with an expected sticker price starting at $25,000, it will be easy to talk us into buying one to experience on a daily basis. For more information on what is coming, head to All Star today! Their team will be happy to share more about the new Jeep Wrangler trim!
