Personal Thoughts on the Jeep Cherokee

Jeep Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Florissant

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Florissant is a really powerful and impressive SUV. We don’t know if you have had an opportunity to drive one or own one, but you will really want to drive a Cherokee after you read the person thoughts that we got from Edgar, a new Cherokee owner that we had the opportunity to talk to!

What did you buy?: I just purchased a 2017 Cherokee Latitude a few weeks ago, and continue to be impressed. To put it in perspective, I also have a 2016 Honda CRV and can make a good comparison now.

What kind of pricing did you get and do you think you got more value with the Jeep Cherokee?: I had shopped both cars and negotiated rock bottom deals on both. Both cars ended up within $100 of each other, Latitude for the Jeep and EX for the CRV. But compare what I got in terms of value: Power: the 6 cylinder engine of the Jeep is is much more powerful and smooth than the 4 cylinder in the Honda..a 90 hp difference..advantage Jeep. Convenience: The Jeep has Power tailgate, Much better/larger LCD Infotainment System, Remote Start, More Adjustable and comfortable power front seats Auto Mirror, integrated 911 system etc not on the CRV. The CRV came with heated seats and the blind spot camera, both nice things but not of the value of the Jeep. Utility: The Jeep came with Roof Rails, Tow package (can tow 4500 lbs!), and full size spare. Honda did not include roof rails at that price point or tow hitch, and can tow only 1500 lbs if so configured. Advantage Jeep. Design: The Jeep has a unique outdoorsey presence about it, with off color stitching. The CRV is just kind of ‘blah’.

It is nice to see someone really take the time to compare their vehicles, and we are always happy to see more people fall in love with the Jeep Cherokee!

Real Renegade Review!

Jeep Renegade at All Star Jeep Dealer near Chesterfield

We can tell you just how wonderful the Jeep Renegade at All Star Jeep Dealer near Chesterfield is until we are blue in the face, but maybe you want the opinion of someone who has bought the Renegade and drives it on a daily basis. It just so happens that we know someone who bought the 2017 Jeep Renegade earlier this year and got them to share with us their feelings on their vehicle purchase.

This is my first Jeep purchase. I had liked the design of the Renegade since it was introduced and had been waiting for my old car to die before looking into them. I ended up liking the Trailhawk trim better than the others and opted for that one given it’s more off-road-ability (her word) and extra ground clearance. It actually is really fun to use in manual mode and responds perfectly to your needs. After a month of usage in the winter I am getting descent fuel economy. Right now averaging around 23 mpg. On a longer road trip I was getting 27. It seems to be getting better as I break it in and the weather gets warmer. The inside is very well laid out.  The driver display is awesome and can be customized to show what you want from radio stations to the digital speedometer or trip computer. I have the bigger Uconnect display and navigation package which are great additions. Bluetooth functionality is great and can stream your music without issue. You can also hook up anything via USB cable and it will pick up those devices to play music from. For one of the smaller compact SUVs in this segment Jeep makes it feel very spacious in the inside. -Marsha

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer near Fenton

It’s easy to see what the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star Jeep Dealer near Fenton is an incredibly off-road capable vehicle. Today we are going to take a look back at how the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited got its start. Remember, you can always get the latest generation at All Star!

The JK series 2007 Wrangler Unlimited was unveiled at the New York Auto Show on April 12, 2006. It is stretched even more than the TJ model, and featured four doors. This change made it the last-remaining 2-door SUV in North America to gain a four-door option and made it the only four door convertible in production. A full 20.6 inches (523 mm) was added to the JK Wrangler’s 95.4-inch (2423 mm) wheelbase. It hit production line in August 2006 and was priced near $21,000.

The Unlimited has the same engine and transmission choices as a short-wheelbase JK. X and Sahara trims offer an option of 4×2 rear-wheel drive in the USA. Optional 4×2 was discontinued after the 2010 model year for the Unlimited. 4-wheel drive became standard for the 2011 model year. It is the only four-door convertible available in the US, since the Hummer H1 with optional rag-top is no longer sold.

The Unlimited offers more options and equipment than any previous Wrangler model, including standard electronic stability program and optional seat-mounted side airbags, remote keyless entry, navigation system, and Sirius Satellite Radio. The navigation and satellite systems are a part of the MyGig Entertainment system that also has a hard drive allowing for the storage of MP3 music files and pictures. Jeep Wrangler: An Interesting History

Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood

This year marks the 76th anniversary of Jeep. more specifically the Jeep Wrangler that you can get at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood. This model was born out of a difficult time in our nations history. Today we want to take a look back at how the Jeep Wrangler got its start.

On the battlefield, the Jeep was fast, nimble and tough. It could handle nearly any terrain, and when it did get stuck, it was light enough for soldiers to lift free. It towed anti-tank weapons that could be deployed quickly, and it could mount a machine gun for fighting infantry.

The Jeep also served as an ambulance on the battlefield. It forded rivers and traversed lakes, it came ashore on D-Day, and it carried the Allies all the way to Berlin and onto Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima and, eventually, onto the mainland shores of a defeated Japan. But Jeep’s postwar life has been a decades long trail of both rousing successes — and abject failures.

Jeep had a complicated birth, and much controversy remains about its origin. But some facts are undisputed. As World War II began to ravage Europe and Asia, the War Department realized the armed forces needed a small reconnaissance vehicle. It put out requests for proposals to U.S. automakers on an extremely aggressive timetable.

The first prototype military Jeep was developed by Bantam. Designed in 18 hours by Karl Probst, a freelance auto designer from Detroit, the 1,840-pound Bantam exceeded the Army’s expectations during initial testing in September 1940.

The War Department, however, had concerns about Bantam’s ability to meet the military’s capacity needs. As a result, it invited Willys-Overland and Ford Motor Co. to bid on the reconnaissance vehicle contract, this time using Probst’s design as a guidepost and allowing engineers from the two automakers to inspect and measure the Bantam.

When Did the Jeep Patriot Come Around?

Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Clayton

One of the amazing Jeep vehicles is the Jeep Patriot. It has been popular since it came out and is available for purchase at All Star Jeep Dealer near Clayton. Today we want to take a look at how the Jeep Patriot got its start.

It is important to note that the Jeep Patriot is considered by some to be the fraternal twin of the Jeep Compass. Both the Jeep Patriot and Compass shared the basic Caliber design, but also had toughened bodies and Trail Rated versions with low-gear AWD and skid plates.

“Styling was similar to the old Jeep Cherokee and the 2008 Jeep Liberty; Testers were surprised by its abilities at rock-climbing, trail-traversing, and stream-crossing. They weren’t in the same class as the Cherokee, but they were better than expected.”-allpar.com

Interior space was aided by the utilitarian form: the Jeep Patriot had 54.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded flat (62.7 if the front passenger seat was also folded). It could hold an 8-foot ladder, skis, or eight-foot lumber. The 2007s had two-tone interiors in dark and light gray or beige. Jeep Patriots sold in the United States and Canada had standard traction control, three-mode stability control, electronic roll mitigation, and anti-lock brakes with rough-road detection. Braking distance from 60 mph was 134 feet on dry pavement. The Jeep Patriot started out with a standard 2.4-liter World Engine that produced 172-horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque, using variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust. “The engine was hooked up to a Chrysler-engineered T355 five-speed manual transaxle and an optional CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission). A 2.0 liter diesel with a six-speed manual transaxle was sold outside North America.”-allpar.com
