Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge Ram in Bridgeton
This month we have been taking a look at how some of our favorite Dodge Cars got their start. Today we are focusing on the impressive and capable Dodge Durango that you can find at All Star Dodge Ram in Bridgeton.
Though the Dodge Durango was officially introduced in 1993, the introduction of a new millennium meant some delightful changes – changes that some believe were the start of amazing model that we love today. The successful Dodge Durango underwent numerous changes for 2000. There was a new Sport model, with new fabrics and two-tone fascias; and, for all models, optional factory installed running boards, and five-spoke aluminum wheels. There were additional color keyed components for all models, including the steering wheel, floor console, various bezels, levers, and switches, and air outlets. There were newly redesigned gathered leather front and intermediate seats in the SLT+ group, with maple woodgrain bezels and accents and a leather wrapped steering wheel.
“The 4.7 liter V8, available for the moment just on four wheel drive models, was new, and was combined with a new 45RFE automatic transmission that had four regular gears and a special kickdown gear for better highway passing. The 318 remained for rear wheel drive buyers; it had better “grunt” but lower peak horsepower and torque, and lower gas mileage. The 4.7 reported cost the company much less to build than the outgoing 318 or 360 (5.2 or 5.9).”-allpar.com
4×4 models were improved in numerous ways, with a new front axle that was better made, higher capacity, and lower weight; a smoother and easier to use transfer case shifter; and an optional full-time four wheel drive transfer case.

Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Illinois
When you are shopping for a great Jeep to drive, you might wonder which Jeep at All Star Jeep Dealer near Illinois would be best for you. We are going to talk about the Jeep Patriot and the different things that it offers to its drivers.
Here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. the Patriot uses either the 2.0 L or 2.4 L World gasoline I4 engine. (In Europe and Australia there are some different engine types.)Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available. The Patriot features two four-wheel drive systems both of which are electronically controlled. The basic four-wheel drive system is called Freedom Drive I. This system is a full-time front-wheel-drive based 4WD/AWD system that is front-wheel-drive when it has traction, but can automatically put up to 20-30% power to the rear wheels, or can be locked in 50-50 below a certain speed. The other system, called Freedom Drive II, is based on Freedom Drive I, but by using the vehicle’s CVT transmission it is capable of a 19:1 gear reduction simulating a low range usually found in vehicles with dedicated transfer cases. The 2.4 L GEMA I4 is an option for the 4X2 model Patriot. (The Patriot uses a continuously variable transmission equipped with a four wheel drive system, marketed as Freedom Drive II, capable of holding the lowest ratio the CVT can reach, in lieu of a traditional two-speed transfer case. The Patriot carries Jeep’s “Trail Rated” badging.)
In 2009, Jeep Patriot added an extended range electric vehicle to its trim line up. It was not well received and lacked the driving power most Jeep drivers want, so FCA got rid of this model. (This information was compiled from Jeep.com.)

If you are someone who longs for adventure and wants to take the road less traveled, then you need a Jeep Wrangler from All Star Jeep Dealer in Bridgeton. The Jeep Wrangler is designed for off-road excitement. Today we want to share with you some of the amazing features of the Jeep Wrangler.
Made for Off-Road – The Wrangler’s off-road capabilities extend beyond its impressive 4WD system. Just a short trip off the pavement makes it clear that the Jeep was designed for rugged environments. It uses combined short approach angles in the front and rear, along with a tall ride height, to keep it well clear of obstacles and make steeply angled transitions without hitting the dirt.
Great Pricing – A basic 2-door sport model starts at $23,390 (including a $995 destination charge), and from there the options abound. The high-end Rubicon X Unlimited with every option and upgrade available costs $46, 545. The number of available trims, upgrades, and features makes a Jeep Wrangler available to almost anyone who wants one, in any way they want one.
It Looks Beautiful – When it comes to exterior design, the Wrangler’s iconic look dates back to the earliest days of its existence. Jeep has remained true to that design throughout the years, and a Jeep today is as recognizable as ever. ” classic look of a Wrangler makes its competition, like the Mazda CX-5 and the Nissan Rogue, all look the same. People often want to own a jeep for this reason alone, and Jeep offers plenty of options to enhance the Wrangler’s curb appeal while not sacrificing its off-road abilities.”-carbuyingstrategies.com

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most loved Jeep models of all time. There are a number of great trims that make up the different model types under the Jeep Wrangler umbrella. Today we want to talk about the changes that are coming for the Jeep Wrangler JL.
“The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is perhaps the most highly anticipated SUV in America. The next-gen Wrangler is expected to get a host of updates that include new front and rear end designs, as well as an all-new pickup truck variant,” (autoblog.com). Here’s everything we know about the next version of Jeep’s iconic SUV.
October 18, 2016: Images of the upcoming Wrangler JL from a supposed Jeep dealer meeting surface, revealing the SUV’s updated front and rear end design. The renderings point towards the next-gen Wrangler maintaining a seven-slot grille and round headlights. The SUV, though, will obtain LED light bars on the front fenders, while the taillights get a similar design to the units found on the Renegade crossover. Overall, the renderings display a smoother shape than ever before.
September 16, 2016: A report from JL Wrangler Forums indicates that the next-gen Wrangler JL would utilize aluminum on the hood, as well as on the front and rear doors. The report claims the Wrangler will get its aluminum from supplier Alcoa, in the form of the company’s C6A1 high form alloy, 6022 alloy sheet, and A951, which is the company’s sheet bonding technology.
While we don’t know much right now on what the 2018 Jeep Wrangle JL will for sure offer, we can enjoy speculating right now. It is always interesting to talk about what new and exciting things Jeep is developing for their customers. For more information, stop by All Star Jeep Dealer in MO.
Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood
We have been a longtime fan of the Jeep Patriot that is available at All Star Jeep Dealer near Kirkwood. We found out earlier in the year that the Jeep Patriot was in its last year of production and that we would have to say goodbye to this model. The Patriot model is not the only one that is going away, the Jeep Compass is also going away. These two models being gone was going to mean a serious gap in the Jeep lineup. No worries though, Jeep decided to replace the Patriot and the Compass with a model that is a combination of all of their best features. We recently got to view some spy shots of the replacement model, and we want to share with you what we saw in the photos.
“Starting with the skin, it’s like Jeep’s designers scaled down the Grand Cherokee’s profile to fit on the new crossover’s stretched Renegade platform. The headlights, grille, and taillights looked like shrunken items from Jeep’s flagship crossover, too. This is good news – even after its 2011 facelift the Compass was a homely little thing, and the Patriot was boxy at a time when CUVs were going for smoother, more aerodynamic lines. Jeep’s new CUV is avoiding those mistakes by aping one of the company’s most popular designs.” -autoblog.com
Under hood, there are reports that FCA’s nine-speed automatic will be the only transmission choice. FCA will call on its new 2.0-liter, Hurricane four-cylinder engine, the spies claim, but we also expect the less powerful 2.4-liter, four-cylinder from the Renegade and Cherokee.

“Given it’s a Sport SUV that will be cruising at top speeds, the Jeep Patriot 2016 definitely has to come with safety guards to protect against any mishap on the road. It is fitted with 4-wheel ABS brakes reinforced with emergency braking assist. The front disc and rear drum are well ventilated to ensure your brakes don’t overheat, hence cutting down the effects of wear and tear.” – carbuyingstrategies.com

Burr! Could it get any colder outside?! We know it can but do not want it to. The colder it gets the more snow and ice it seems we get. That snow and ice can make for some really scary and unsafe driving conditions. We are not sure how some people make it around in the vehicles that they drive. Some of them seem so lightweight that there is no way that they will be able make it anywhere! If you are one of those people who are having a hard time getting around in rough conditions, then it is time for you to head to All Star near St. Peters and check out their selection of Dodge Cars.
Dodge has been making some of the finest automobiles around for a very long time. One of the great things about this manufacturer is that they make their vehicles to last and to hold us under some of the worst conditions. For example, we heard about a gentleman in the area who owns a Dodge Durango. His Dodge has four wheel drive and a Hemi engine. This SUV can get through anything will almost no trouble. One day, his wife got to work downtown and then a freak snow and ice storm hit. He wasn’t going to have her drive her small car home or stay at the office until everything was clear. He got in his Dodge and drove downtown and got her safely back home with no trouble at all. While others were sliding, his vehicle was eating up the roads. While not everyone will have this experience, it is nice to know that a Dodge was able to get this family home safe and sound.
