2018 Jeep Wrangler Spotted!

Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near Town and Country

We love when there are leaks of what the latest Jeep models will look like when they are released. It’s like getting to watch a long trailer for the hottest movie that will be coming out. We recently got a look at what the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will look like once it is available at All Star Jeep Dealer near Town and Country.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler isn’t scheduled to be officially revealed for a few more months, but leaked images may have uncovered its new design. The overall look hasn’t changed much, but there’s a longer hood, a more prominent front bumper, vents behind the front fenders, and a character line running under what appear to be taller windows.

“A kinked grille has outer slats that curve around the headlights, while the turn signals move to the fenders. The Wrangler’s signature hood latches and exposed door hinges remain, as does its fold-down windshield, despite rumors that the feature wouldn’t make the cut.”-foxnews.com

If authentic, the images also confirm that the next-generation Wrangler will have a fully removable roof and doors, with framework replacing the sport bar used on the current model. Overall, the look is in line with a lot of rumors that have been floating around about the 2018 Wrangler. We loved the look of the leaked Jeep Wrangler and can only hope that the model released to dealerships will look very similar to the mules we saw on the road. (A mule is a prototype of a car.)

For more information on the current Jeep Wrangler or if you would like to take a test drive, stop by All Star Jeep Dealer today. Their team would love to take you out to experience its capability!

What to Look for in a Collision Repair Center

Collision Repair Center at All Star Dodge Ram in MO

After you have had a minor fender bender or a major accident, you want to find a collision repair center that will ensure your Dodge Ram vehicle is repaired in the best way possible. The Collision Repair Center at All Star Dodge Ram in MO is the perfect place to get your vehicle back in like new condition. Today we want to share with you some things to look for when finding a repair center.

First, it helps to understand that speed and cost shouldn’t necessarily be your top factors in choosing a collision repair center. While there’s nothing wrong with finding a company that can deliver repairs within a reasonable time frame and at an affordable price, work that seems too fast and cheap to be true probably is. You don’t want to work with a shop that cuts corners in order to boast that they can deliver the fastest or cheapest repairs. (All Star has to meet the requirements set forth by the auto manufacturer, so you know that all of their repairs are done as the manufacturer would have them done.)

“It’s also a good idea to choose a collision repair center that is completely transparent about the work they do. If a company is unwilling to explain why a certain repair is necessary or demonstrate what they plan to do to fix your car, you’re probably better off seeking service from a different shop—one that will communicate with you in an open and informative manner.”-nearsay.com

Comfortable Ride in the Dodge Journey

Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge Ram near IL

You find yourself needing a vehicle in which you can ride comfortably for long trips. There are a number of great vehicles from which to choose, but we think that you will really like the Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge Ram near IL. We want to talk a little bit about the seating of the Journey.

The Journey comes standard with two rows and seating for five on cloth upholstery. A third row that increases capacity to seven is available as an option or standard in higher trims. Other optional seating features include premium cloth seats, leather-bolstered seats with cloth inserts, full leather seats, a six-way power driver’s seat, heated seats, a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, and a heated steering wheel.

There are two complete and one partial LATCH system in the Journey, which are on the outboard and middle seats of the second row, respectively. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates the system as Marginal, which is the second-worst designation. On all three seats, the top tether anchor is hard to find and could be confused with other hardware. The middle seat borrows one lower anchor from the passenger side seat, and it’s difficult to maneuver around the anchors. “On the second row driver’s side seat, the lower anchors are too deep in the seat cushion. There are optional integrated child booster seats available for the second row that are easier to manipulate than the standard LATCH tethers and anchors.”-cars.usnews.com

For more information on the Dodge Journey and if you want to explore all of the features that the interior has to offer, head to All Star today. Their team would love to get you behind the wheel of a Dodge Journey!

Big Plans at Chrysler

New Chrysler Cars at All Star in Bridgeton

Chrysler is making some big moves in 2017. Probably the biggest move is that Chrysler is making is the Pacifica. Chrysler has begun making a SUV and minivan super vehicle, known as the Chrysler Pacifica. We are going to take a look at this impressive crossover.

A minivan may be a box, but the Pacifica is undeniably a good-looking box. Wider and with a more aggressive stance than the Town & Country, it presents a crisp, sleek profile and is arguably the best-looking minivan on the market. As before, the sliding-door tracks are tucked away under the rear windows, further smoothing the look. And its shape also makes the Pacifica the most aerodynamic minivan, according to Chrysler, which improves fuel economy. It lets the Odyssey contend for best-in-class highway mileage at 28 mpg, and the Pacifica does that with 39 more ponies. The Pacifica overachieved its highway rating with an impressive 31 mpg on our real-world highway fuel-economy test, performed at a steady 75 mph.

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 is about the only piece of the Pacifica that is not new, but it has been tweaked for greater power and fuel economy. Good for 287 horsepower and paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, it delivered a 7.3-second zero-to-60-mph time—quicker by a few tenths than its closest competitors.

“A plug-in-hybrid version is promised later this year. It will pair the V-6 with an electric motor, fed by batteries tucked into the compartments that are reserved for folding second-row seats in gasoline-powered versions. Chrysler claims the hybrid will be able to travel up to 30 miles on electric power alone before the V-6 kicks in and will deliver 80 MPGe in the city.”-caranddriver.com

More Horsepower on the Durango SRT

Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge near Florissant

The Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge near Florissant is an incredibly popular SUV that handles like a dream. For the 2018 year, FCA, the company that owns and manufacturers the Dodge Durango, decided that the SRT model needed more power. Let’s take a look at the more powerful Durango SRT.

The new high-performance vehicle for the Durango nameplate is due out this summer, said Tim Kuniskis, head of Dodge and SRT for FCA North America.

“This now takes everything that was great about the Durango and everything that was awesome about the Charger SRT and combines it into one badass SUV,” he said.

The Durango SRT is powered by the 392-cubic-inch, 6.4-liter V-8 Hemi engine, cranking out 475 horsepower and 470 foot-pounds of torque. It’s mated to an automatic eight-speed transmission and is outfitted with full-time all-wheel drive. The SUV is said to trip the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds, and go from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds.

Dodge updated the the SRT Durango with an aggressive look, upgraded the interior and put a T-shaped electronic shifter inside it instead of a rotary knob, Kuniskis said. It also features updated ride dynamics and shift feel. The exhaust was tuned to sound like the 392 Charger, said Pete Jacobsen, Dodge Durango vehicle development manager.

While it boasts performance, the Durango SRT also will be used as a family-hauling daily driver, Kuniskis said. The interior features driver and family comforts such as a hand-wrapped instrument panel, flat-bottom performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row captain’s chairs. The Durango SRT also can tow more than any other three-row SUV and is capable of hauling 8,600 pounds, according to Dodge.

How Does Car Service Work?

Service at All Star Dodge Ram near St. Louis

It would seem that getting your Dodge, Ram, Jeep, or Chrysler serviced at All Star near St. Louis is really easy, and for the customer it is, but there are actually a lot of things happening to make sure that you have a great experience and to ensure that your vehicle gets the servicing it needs. Today we want to take a quick look at the processes that take place to ensure a quality repair.

While every dealership is a little different, most processes are the same. When a customer first pulls into a dealership’s service drive, they are greeted either by a service consultant or a porter who will direct them to an available service consultant.

The service consultant then will ask what the customer needs help with, and write up a repair order describing the work to be performed. Once that’s done, the customer signs the repair order–which often has an estimate of the repair costs on it–and heads to the waiting area or gets a ride home or a loaner vehicle, if the car will be in the shop for a while.

Once the repair order, or R.O., is complete, the service advisor will either hand it to a dispatcher, who will assign the work to a technician, or if the dealership does not use a dispatcher, the advisor will assign the work directly.

Once this is done, the technician brings the car to his or her work bay, and begins working. In most cases, whether performing an oil change or major repair work, the technician will need to order parts for the job. Sometimes these parts come from the dealership’s own parts department. Then the repairs begin.

Parts! Parts! Parts!

Parts at All Star Dealership near Saint Charles

We are often asked if people should take their Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Chrysler cars to the All Star Dealership near Saint Charles for servicing, or if they can just take their vehicles to an independently owned shop. We believe that dealership service is the best service, and we would like to tell you why, today.

Advanced Training – In order to maintain their franchises dealerships must pay for training their technicians and providing special tools and equipment. Dealers also have access to proprietary information, information on new vehicles they sell and service. This means that no one else can access this information, which is often necessary for diagnosis and repair. In addition, dealership service departments work mainly on the makes and models that they sell. Since they are very familiar with the particular car line, they can usually pinpoint a problem more quickly and more accurately. The faster they can figure the problem out, the faster they can work to correct it, and the faster you get your car back. This also can mean big savings since the technicians are able to correct the problem faster – less time on repairs means less money out of your wallet.

It used to be that a dealership’s hourly rates were higher than the independent shops because of overhead, cost of tools, and training. However, this isn’t the case any more. Car technologies are advancing so quickly that the independent shops are incurring a lot more costs just trying to keep up with the technology, the need for ongoing training and the purchase of new equipment and tools. The dealerships can keep up and be ahead of the changes because they represent the company that is making the changes.
