Go Your Own Way in a Dodge Journey

Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge near IL

The Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge near IL is a wonderful vehicle that has a bunch of surprises that you might not expect. While some people only think of the Dodge Journey for its family hauling capabilities, it really has a lot of other wonderful things to offer. Today we want to share with you part of a conversation that we recently had with someone who bought the latest version of the Dodge Journey.

What were your initial impressions?: The engine has more power than I really need, all the room I could ask for (including two beer coolers that are removable under the second row seats), AWD, a huge infotainment screen that I still have yet to touch because it kind of intimidates me, and a bunch of other little niceties that I didn’t really expect (self-dimming rear view mirror, built in booster seats for kids, removable flashlight built into trunk, actual power outlet in the backseat).

How do you like driving it?: It rides like a cloud, smooth and quiet. Though the trim piece around the infotainment screen makes a slight creak on the occasional bump.

Do you see yourself driving this vehicle long-term?: Overall I think I am going to be very happy with this car, I like sitting up higher and after driving my previous car, it is going to take some getting used to but you certainly can’t argue that it’s an extremely versatile vehicle. If all goes well reliability wise, which it should since it’s from All Star, I think I will keep this SUV for a long time.

Would the Dodge Durango be the Right Choice for You?

Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge Ram near Florissant

If you are shopping around for a great SUV that has 3 rows of seats and loads of character, you need to check out the Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge Ram near Florissant. This SUV is as powerful as it is comfortable, but don’t take our word for it! We want to share with you what some real owners had to say about their Dodge Durango!
Great vehicle, great value. I was in the market for a new good size SUV ,with great towing features and capacity. Dodge Durango was the perfect fit. I use this vehicle to transport cargo and family. This vehicle covers all aspects of my busy lifestyle from camping, towing my boat, bringing stuff home for my lawn and garden. I couldn’t find a better fit for my lifestyle. I am impressed with the design and performance from this vehicle. If you are looking for a vehicle that’s not going to put you to sleep the Durango is what you are looking for. I am very satisfied in my choice. I smile every time I get in and start this SUV.-James

We bought a new 2017 Durango AWD RT after having an accident in our trusty Jeep Commander HEMI. I drive a Corvette with 465hp and must say, this thing is a BLAST to drive (Keep sport mode on and “eco” mode off). For a family car, you just can’t go wrong. Our Commander was nice, but so much improvement in engine/transmission/electronics over the past 6 years means a MUCH smoother, faster, better sounding beast than I could have imagined. I love this truck and am truly happy with it. Highly recommended! PS, the kids love the extra room in the 3rd row over the Commander too. -Dev

2018: Jeep Wrangler (JL), Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody, Dodge Durango SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Ram HD moved back to 2021; current trucks will get a 2019 mild refresh.

“The Chrysler and Dodge large cars (Challenger, Charger, 300) might still be updated for model-year 2019 to get updated Pentastar engines and other refinements for their final two or three years. Here’s another rendering of what the 2019 Chrysler 300 may look like. (Sources are now saying the current versions will soldier on until they are replaced around 2020-21.) The Chrysler Portal was, we were told, a preview of new styling themes to come — perhaps replacing the relatively low-key Pacifica’s themes.”-allpar.com

All Star Service

Service Department at All Star Dodge Ram near Ellisville

When it comes to getting your Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Chrysler cars, trucks, and SUVs serviced, there is no better option than the Service Department at All Star Dodge Ram near Ellisville. Their certified technicians are factory trained and know exactly what needs to be done to keep your vehicles in top running condition. Today we want to share with you some of the benefits of dealership service.

Dealerships have the advantage of being associated with certain manufacturers, which means all of their technicians receive manufacturer-specific training. The technicians are usually specialists on certain vehicle makes and models and only work on those two or three brands.

Edmunds explains, “The manufacturers offer these training programs only to their network of dealers. The dealers typically pay for these programs to keep up with the latest vehicle enhancements and repair techniques.”

“While the manufacturer-specific training may only be available at certain dealerships, independent mechanics have the ability to receive certified training through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). When choosing a mechanic, make sure you choose someone who is ASE-certified rather than some guy down the street who supposedly does good work. Certifications and experience are important, so ask questions before you decide to have a local mechanic work on your vehicle.”-motors.com

This whole concept of factory training is something that we cannot emphasize enough. You wouldn’t let just anyone come in and work on your electricity in your house, so why would you let just anyone work on your car? While sometimes dealership services may be a little more expensive (a lot of the time not, but this is a common misconception for people), you are getting far better quality repairs, and in the long run, a vehicle that will run like new for a lot longer period of time.

All Star Parts Make Everything Right

Parts Department at All Star Dodge near WEntzville

When you are in need of parts for your Jeep, Dodge, Ram, or Chrysler cars, trucks, and SUVs, you need look no further than the parts department at All Star Dodge near Wentzville. The parts that All Star offers are designed specifically for the vehicles that they sell and can allow you to keep your automobiles in top running condition. Today we want to take a look at how factory parts are best!

Parts built by the exact same manufacturer that made the ones originally installed on your vehicle when it was built are known as “OEM”, signifying they are made by the original equipment manufacturer. Whether they were built by the automaker themselves or contracted to an outside supplier to build, they are fully authorized by the carmaker as “genuine” or “authentic”. The expression “OE” (signifying “original equipment”) is used in the business just as often to signify a genuine or authentic part. Dealership parts departments and manufacturers use the term “OEM” when they refer to parts the vehicle manufacturer authorizes.

New car manufacturers typically provide bumper-to-bumper warranties for three or four years on newer cars, and may continue coverage of certain items for up to six years on vehicles bought with a Certified Pre-Owned warranty. Additionally, some powertrain warranties cover running gear such as internal engine, transmission, and drivetrain components for longer amounts of time. When warranty coverage is involved, new car manufacturers always want the failed parts shipped back to them. They will automatically reject coverage if a failed part is an aftermarket one, or the part in question failed because of a connected aftermarket part elsewhere. (This information was compiled from carid.com.)

Dealership or Private Seller?

Inventory Specials at All Star Dodge Ram near Mehlville

This is question that is frequently posed by people looking to buy a car. Should I buy from a dealership or from a private seller. We believe that the best way to protect yourself is to get your next vehicle from a dealership, a dealership like All Star Dodge Ram near Mehlville.

But what do we mean by protecting oneself? This means that you do everything in your power to ensure that you are getting a good deal and that you are getting a quality vehicle that won’t break down on you in a short period of time. Auto dealerships are held to higher standards than private sellers. Those higher standards are designed to protect the buyer. If you decide to go the private seller route, you have to be ready to do a really thorough inspection yourself, or pay to take it to someone to inspect for you. “The car may look great from the exterior, but what’s happening under the bonnet? Some of the most critical (and expensive to repair) parts are not clearly visible unless you know what to look for. A private seller is not necessarily going to disclose or even be aware of all the potential issues with the car.”-macquarie.com

If you buy from a dealership, you get an added benefit of a warranty – you won’t get one of those from a private seller. When you buy a car through a licensed car dealer, the car will be covered by a statutory warranty which guarantees that certain defects found after purchase will be repaired free of charge within the warranty period. Dealerships may be able to offer additional warranties, which could be comforting if you are buying a used car.

Skip the hassle of a private seller and head to the All Star Dodge Ram dealership and check out their inventory specials today!

An Oldie, but a Goodie

New Ram Trucks at All Star Dodge Ram near North County

The Ram pick up truck is one of the oldest vehicles in the truck segment, but is still hugely popular with customers. This is probably because it has been refreshed each generation that keep it competitive and desirable. We talked last month about some changes that were coming in 2019, but as it turns out, there will be some changes by 2018 too! We are so excited to share with you some of those changes today!

The biggest changes are coming on the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 Sport and Big Horn Black models. The Sport model sits in the upper-middle of the Ram lineup. It’s a handsome truck, with dark emblems and body color bumpers and trim. The headlights get dark surrounds while the hood gets two scoops, similar to that on the Challenger. The big news for 2018 is the addition of the big, R-A-M grille. This ditches the iconic cross grille, replacing it with a wide, body-color piece with RAM in bold letters right in the center.

“The new Big Horn Black edition slots just below the Sport trim. Consider this the “murdered-out” model, with black on black on black. It’s a sleek look, with black paint, black wheels, and black trim. It has the traditional cross grille but swipes the hood from the Sport model. Both trucks go on sale later this year.”-autoblog.com

These are just some of the changes and refreshes that are coming in 2018. We are sure that the other changes are sure to be big hits as well. Head to All Star Dodge Ram near North County to take the Ram 1500 or Ram 2500 for a test drive. Before you know it, the new 2018 models will be on the lot for your purchasing pleasure soon!

Going with the Charger Daytona gets you the R/T’s special exterior styling elements and interior trim, a further upgraded performance suspension, forged alloy wheels, leather and simulated-suede upholstery, and the Premium Group content with the exception of navigation and BeatsAudio, which are available separately.

The R/T Scat Pack adds to the R/T a bigger V8 engine, upgraded performance brakes, a further upgraded “high-performance” suspension, the rear parking sensors, rearview camera and eight-way power front seats. Leather and simulated-suede upholstery is optional, and with it you get the heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.

The SRT 392 adds to the R/T Scat Pack an adaptive suspension, forged alloy wheels, the Daytona 392’s upgraded brakes, xenon headlamps, the blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems, all-leather upholstery, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and the Uconnect navigation system. The Technology Group is optional.

“The SRT Hellcat adds to the SRT 392 content a more powerful supercharged V8, upgraded steering and suspension tuning, and all of the above options. It reverts to the manual-adjustable steering wheel and eliminates the four-way power lumbar seating, but you can get the latter as well as the power-adjustable wheel as part of the Power Convenience Group.”-edmunds.com
