Grand Caravan: History

2015 and 2016 year written on sandy beach sea. Wave washes away 2015. The concept of 2015 is gone, come the new year 2016.

Dodge Grand Caravan at All Star near Clayton

Happy Leap Day! Once every four years we get an extra day to enjoy. Unfortunately, it is at the end of February and living in the Midwest means that it could be a lovely day with warm temperatures or a freezing day with massive amounts of snow. We always hope for the former. For some reason, leap years make us think more about time and how far we have come in just a short period. Today, we want to talk about the Dodge Grand Caravan at All Star near Clayton and just how it began.

In 1974 Lee Iacocca and Hal Sperlich came up with the initial concept for the mini van. They created a prototype, the T-115, which eventually become the Caravan and the Voyager. The Caravan was sold starting in 1984. Over the years the Caravan saw several changes and trims developed. Eventually, the long-wheel base Caravan was manufactured and this became the Grand Caravan that we know and love today. The Caravan and Grand Caravan have gone through five generations, each improving on the last.

It is hard to believe that before 1974 the idea of a mini van did not even exist, and now mini vans are one of the top selling vehicle types the world over. The Grand Caravan has grown a lot as a vehicle over the thirty years that it has been in production. We encourage you to head to the All Star dealership and check out the Grand Caravan models that they have in stock. Take one for a test drive and see why it is one of the very top selling mini vans each and every year.

He met us on the lot, asked what we were looking for and within 30 minutes we both reached an agreement on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We had two vehicles that we were wanting to trade in,we were offered a very fair price for each and a very good price on the jeep.Paper work took a bit longer because this dealership was selling so many vehicles on the day we were there but that was OK. Everyone on the staff was very friendly. I will for sure return to this business for my future car or truck buying needs. I would rate this dealership. A++. Ram 3500: Made for Hauling

Los Angeles USA - November 19 2015: RAM 3500 2016 on display during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Ram 3500 at All Star in Missouri

We are getting to say goodbye to February and hopefully say good bye to the winter weather and hello to being outside and having fun! One of those fun activities that we look forward to is building and landscaping something in our yards. Some of these projects can take a lot of materials and you need some way to get them from the home improvement store to your home. We think that a great way to get your items from point a to point b is with a Ram 3500 from All Star in Missouri.

Part of what makes the Ram 3500 such a great truck is its hauling capabilities. “Whether you carry your weight in a trailer or in the cargo box, Ram Heavy Duty trucks offer Best-in-Class max towing when equipped with the available 6.7L CumminsTurbo Diesel I6 engine. When mated to the available AISIN automatic transmission, it generates Best-in-Class 900 pound-feet of maximum diesel torque, with a maximum towing capacity of over 31,000 pounds. And with the Electronic Range Select and tow/haul mode, you can take control and get the job done with confidence.”-Ram website

While you might not need to be able to haul a Bobcat behind your Ram truck, you can if you want to! That is part of what makes the Ram so great. It has a lot of capabilities that you might not use very often, but when you need them, you have them! There is even an option for a Cargo Management System that will make organizing your tools fun and easy.

For more information on the Ram 3500 and all of the other available options for towing and cargo management, stop by the All Star Dodge Ram Dealership. The staff would love to help you!

Certified Pre-Owned Cars at All Star in MO

Shopping for certified pre-owned Chrysler Cars at All Star in MO need not be a stressful experience! For a lot of people, the more they know about what to expect or some questions to ask while shopping, the better, less stressful, time they have. We have some questions that you might want to ask while shopping at the All Star dealership. These questions, in part, come from Edmonds.

Can you deliver the car? This is another great question for Internet shoppers. If everything else in the deal looks good, and you haven’t yet said yes, you could ask for this one last little perk. Say something like, “Well, if you are willing to deliver the car, then we have a deal.” Instead of going to the dealership and waiting while the car is washed, gassed and prepared for delivery, why not stay at your home or office and let the dealer bring the car to you?

Is the car on your lot? If you tell the salesman that you don’t want a car because of its color or options, he’ll quickly answer, “We can get you the car you want, no problem.” It sounds like he might have the right one out back, or in another lot. In fact, he is planning to do a dealer trade for the car. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it means the car isn’t immediately available and the terms of the deal could possibly change.

The staff at All Star want you to have a great shopping experience. Feel free to ask as many questions as you need to make sure that you have a great time while buying certified pre-owned Chrysler Cars. It is time for a stress-free shopping experience!

Stress Free Shopping!

New Cars at All Star Dodge Ram near Illinois

While shopping for a new car, it is natural to get a little nervous and stressed out. After all, a vehicle is a pretty big purchase. All Star near Illinois wants to help you shop stress free for your new car, here are a few questions that you might want ask while at the All Star Dodge Ram Dealership. These questions come, in part, from the Edmonds website.

Are there any aftermarket parts or alarms on the car? Most cars come with options installed at the factory when the car is built. But sometimes the dealer adds items as a way to boost profit. Popular add-ons include mud flaps, aftermarket alarms, tinted windows or the ever-popular “paint protection package.” These are called dealer “add-ons” and the mark-up can be quite steep. An increasingly common add-on is LoJack, a vehicle recovery system. Dealers often add the system’s cost to new cars without telling the buyer, who discovers it when he reviews the contract. We’re not saying you should never buy a car with dealer add-ons. But you want to know about any add-ons well in advance.

How many miles are on the car? This is particularly important for Internet shoppers who might not have seen the car yet. You would think that every new car has less than 10 miles on the odometer. But in some cases, the car might have gone on a lot of test-drives or is a “dealer trade,” meaning that the dealer traded another car for it and it’s been driven in from another dealership. If there are more than about 300 miles on the car, you need to negotiate a lower price.

For more information on what questions you should ask while shopping at the All Star dealership, head down there today. They will be happy to help you!

Know What to Ask!

Los Angeles USA - November 18 2015: Jeep Renegader on display during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Jeep Renegade at All Star near IL

Shopping for a Jeep Renegade at All Star near IL can be a really fun experience. However, sometimes shopping for a new car can make people uneasy. To help provide a little comfort to those with concerns, we have a few questions that you might want to ask of the All Star dealership. These questions come from the Edmonds website.

What other fees will I be charged? Another way to ask this question is, “What’s my out-the-door price?” Up to now, you have probably been negotiating the price of the car only. You will, of course, be required to pay additional fees, some of which are legitimate and some of which might be questionable. Legit costs include sales tax, registry costs and a documentation fee.

How much is your documentation fee? All car dealers charge a documentation (“doc”) fee when you buy a car. This means they actually charge you for filling out the contract. It seems strange, but it’s universal. What isn’t universal is the amount dealers charge for the doc fee. Some states cap the doc fee, usually below $100. Other states don’t regulate the doc fee, so it can be as much as $600. If you think you’re getting a good deal, it could be because the dealer will charge a large doc fee later on. Find out the amount early and negotiate the fee down to a reasonable level.

These are just a couple of questions that relate to some of the fees that are charged while shopping for a new car. Each state, and sometime even cities, have different requirements on what fees can be charged and in what amounts.

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star near Florissant

It is hard to believe that February is nearly over! Where is the time going? It is even more hard to believe that Jeep has been making fantastic SUVs for 75 years! A company that was born out of the United States’ Army need for a vehicle that could better travel over the difficult terrain of Europe during World War II, has turned a beloved automobile manufacturer. For all of these years, Jeep has continued to make some of the most fantastic SUVs of all time, though they are probably best known for vehicles that can handle any kind of off road adventure.

This ability to go off road is not something that every SUV can handle. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at All Star near Florissant has a few tricks that enable it to handle whatever you throw at it. “Every Wrangler Unlimited vehicle is fortified with underbody armor that helps protect its critical components with 2.5-mm stamped steel skid plates on its fuel tank and transfer case.”

“Perfect for helping to pull less capable vehicles out of ditches, these heavy-duty, forged-steel dual front and single rear frame-mounted tow hooks come standard.”

“High-efficiency round fog lamps come standard and include stone chip-resistant polycarbonate plastic lenses with halogen bulbs that provide a low, wide beam of light.”

“The 2016 Wrangler Unlimited boasts a powerful and efficient 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with 16 city / 21 hwy mpg+. This 285-horsepower engine is ready to provide you with power, satisfying fuel efficiency with up to 472 highway miles on a tank of gas+ and will deliver up to 260 pound-feet of torque.” – Jeep.com

Love That Jeep Wrangler!

PILSEN CZECH REPUBLIC - MARCH 19, 2015: The Jeep Wrangler (Wrangler Unlimited model Sahara) is a four-wheel drive off-road and sport utility vehicle (SUV), manufactured by American automaker Chrysler.

Jeep Wrangler at All Star near St. Peters

There are a lot of things that we love about the Jeep Wrangler at All Star near St. Peters but one of the main things that we love is how much other people love the Wrangler. Today we want to share a few reviews from people who own a Wrangler.

“This is my 2nd Wrangler. I am passing on my 2002 to my son. That has been the best vehicle I have ever owned! So, I a bought a 2016 Jeep Willys Wheeler Wrangler to replace it. So far (2 months) I absolutely love it! It rides so much smoother and quieter than the 2002. It is more roomy in the front and back. The U-Connect system is awesome and easy to use. The interior is really nice, especially for a Jeep!! I have been very happy with my dealer Browns in Patchogue and the Jeep organization as a whole! I highly recommend this vehicle and Jeep in general! But it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it! I love my Jeep!”

“Really love the style and durability of this 2016! Drives great on the road and off. Live on a very steep, snow/iced covered road and have NO PROBLEM buzzing up that hill in the worst of conditions. It’s a little less stable in high winds on the open road…but I can deal with that. Wish I got a bit better gas millage…..but when you drive 75-80mph I guess one can’t expect too much.”

These are just a couple of reviews from people who love their Jeep Wranglers. We think that you will fall in love too when you take one for a spin.

For more information on the Jeep Wrangler, head to the All Star dealership today. Their friendly staff will be more than happy to assist you!
