Subtle Pacifica Changes for 2018

Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near North County

In 2017, Chrysler took our preconceived notions of minivans and turned them on their heads to bring us the Chrysler Pacifica. This minivan was more of a crossover than the minivan we expected and we were thrilled! Since the Pacifica is so new, we don’t expect to see any major changes for the 2018 model year, but there will be some subtle changes. Changes that, once they take place, you will be able to see on the different Pacifica models at All Star Chrysler near North County.

We expect no changes to the look or feel of the 2018 Pacifica. This shouldn’t be an issue, given the modern looks of this new minivan. We also expect the interior to remain unchanged, as it’ll continue with its upscale feel, roomy third row, and tons of available luxury features.

We also expect no changes to the Pacifica’s standard features. If this proves accurate, it will come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, three-zone climate control, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a 5-inch touchscreen with rearview camera, and a six-speaker audio system.

The powertrain is another area we expect no changes, so we anticipate seeing the same 3.6-liter V6 with 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to the front wheels. The Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid producing 260 hp, a 33-mile EV range, and an 84 mpg-e combined fuel-economy rating.”-carsdirect.com

We do expect a few subtle changes in regards to the options and packages that are additional to different trim levels. (This model will be considered a carryover, that means very few changes from the prior year.)

It’s that time of the year when we get to start seeing the different spy shots on the models that will be seeing the changes for the next model year. Today we want to take a look at the changes that we think we saw on the latest spy shots of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon that you will be able to get at All Star Jeep Dealer near Clayton for 2018.

  • Solid frame, fixed roll cage in roughly the same location as current sport bar
  • Fully removable roof
  • Fully removable doors
  • Overall vehicle and windows/windshield appear taller above the belt line (more headroom and better visibility?)
  • Turns signal on side mirrors which are attached higher on the doors (within new window moldings) than current model.
  • Character line/belt line that runs the length of the car from A pillar to the rear
  • New larger front bumper design which extends out further
  • Fog lights location moved from middle of bumper to the edges
  • Front fenders end higher and contain LED light strips
  • Larger, more blunt/upright grille with kinked slats that bend slightly in the middle
  • Headlights curve into the outer grille slats (matches the previously leaked grille exactly)
  • Hood is slightly longer and appears to be less angular and with less forward rake than the current model
  • Rubicon hood looks similar to the current one, with black vents flanking a center hump
  • Hood latches position have moved forward slightly toward the edge of the hood
  • “Vent and boomerang styling detail on front quarter panels, immediately aft of the front fenders”-jlwranglerforums.com
  • Fold down windshield with two side hinges instead of current center hinge (previously reported by jeep.com)

While these are the changes that we saw, they may not be the final changes – we will have to wait and find out!

New Interior on the Jeep Wrangler for 2018

Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near University City

It’s no secret that the Jeep Wrangler at All Star Jeep Dealer near University City is probably one of the best off-road capable SUV models on the market today. It offers agility for off road driving, and comfort and style for day to day in town trips. Today we want to share with you more about the new interior that we can expect to see on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

The Wrangler is the heart and soul of the Jeep brand, and its success sets the tone for the entire Jeep lineup. Although no one can criticize the current Wrangler’s off-road chops, many (including us) have commented on the rig’s low-tech interior. Such an interior helps simplify things while you’re out wheeling, but modern amenities nevertheless would be welcome on the daily commute. We can’t comment on the quality of the forthcoming interior, but these spy photos reveal that the Wrangler’s technology is set to increase dramatically.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will adopt the latest iteration of Fiat Chrysler’s easy-to-operate and quick-to-respond system in the form of Uconnect 3.0. Although our spy photographer didn’t get close enough to measure the screen, we presume the top-end unit will measure 8.4 inches as it does in other FCA products (expect lower-end 2018 Wranglers to run the smaller but still intuitive and quick 5.0-inch touchscreen setup).

Although expected to be lighter than its predecessor thanks to increased use of aluminum, the 2018 Wrangler’s chassis won’t stray from the truck’s traditionalist formula. Body-on-frame construction and solid axles at both ends are all but given, as are two- and four-door body styles. (A pickup version is coming as well!) (This information was gathered from caranddriver.com and jeep.com.)

You can expect to see the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler in late 2017 or very early 2018 at All Star!

What to do After and Accident

Collision Repair Center at All Star Dodge Ram in MO

We all hope that the worst won’t happen, but do you know what you should do in the event of accident? Today we want to share some basic steps of what you should do immediately after an accident.

Step 1: Check yourself for injuries.

If you’re injured, call 911 or ask someone else to do so. If you’re seriously injured, try not to move, and wait for emergency personnel.

Step 2: Check on the well-being of your passengers.

If you’re not too hurt to move, check on the other passengers in your car. If anyone’s injured, get on the phone with emergency services or ask a bystander to call for help.

Step 3: Get to safety.

If you’re able to, move to the side of the road or a sidewalk. If your car is safe to drive and is causing a hazard where it is, pull it to the side of the road. Otherwise, leave it where it is and get yourself to safety.

Step 4: Call 911.

Whether an accident is considered a minor fender-bender or a major collision, calling the police is important and in some states, it’s legally required. The responding officers will fill out an accident report and document the scene. If the police can’t come to the scene of the accident, you can go to the nearest police station and complete a report yourself, according to the III.

Step 5: Wait for help.

Turn off your engine, turn on your hazard lights and use road flares to warn other vehicles to slow down.

Step 6: Exchange information.

After making sure you and any passengers are uninjured, exchange contact and insurance information with the other driver. (This information was compiled from allstate.com and dmv.org.)Once it is time for you to get your car repaired, take it to the All Star Collision Center at All Star Dodge Ram in MO. Their team will get your car back to its former glory!

Go Your Own Way in a Dodge Journey

Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge near IL

The Dodge Journey at All Star Dodge near IL is a wonderful vehicle that has a bunch of surprises that you might not expect. While some people only think of the Dodge Journey for its family hauling capabilities, it really has a lot of other wonderful things to offer. Today we want to share with you part of a conversation that we recently had with someone who bought the latest version of the Dodge Journey.

What were your initial impressions?: The engine has more power than I really need, all the room I could ask for (including two beer coolers that are removable under the second row seats), AWD, a huge infotainment screen that I still have yet to touch because it kind of intimidates me, and a bunch of other little niceties that I didn’t really expect (self-dimming rear view mirror, built in booster seats for kids, removable flashlight built into trunk, actual power outlet in the backseat).

How do you like driving it?: It rides like a cloud, smooth and quiet. Though the trim piece around the infotainment screen makes a slight creak on the occasional bump.

Do you see yourself driving this vehicle long-term?: Overall I think I am going to be very happy with this car, I like sitting up higher and after driving my previous car, it is going to take some getting used to but you certainly can’t argue that it’s an extremely versatile vehicle. If all goes well reliability wise, which it should since it’s from All Star, I think I will keep this SUV for a long time.

Would the Dodge Durango be the Right Choice for You?

Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge Ram near Florissant

If you are shopping around for a great SUV that has 3 rows of seats and loads of character, you need to check out the Dodge Durango at All Star Dodge Ram near Florissant. This SUV is as powerful as it is comfortable, but don’t take our word for it! We want to share with you what some real owners had to say about their Dodge Durango!
Great vehicle, great value. I was in the market for a new good size SUV ,with great towing features and capacity. Dodge Durango was the perfect fit. I use this vehicle to transport cargo and family. This vehicle covers all aspects of my busy lifestyle from camping, towing my boat, bringing stuff home for my lawn and garden. I couldn’t find a better fit for my lifestyle. I am impressed with the design and performance from this vehicle. If you are looking for a vehicle that’s not going to put you to sleep the Durango is what you are looking for. I am very satisfied in my choice. I smile every time I get in and start this SUV.-James

We bought a new 2017 Durango AWD RT after having an accident in our trusty Jeep Commander HEMI. I drive a Corvette with 465hp and must say, this thing is a BLAST to drive (Keep sport mode on and “eco” mode off). For a family car, you just can’t go wrong. Our Commander was nice, but so much improvement in engine/transmission/electronics over the past 6 years means a MUCH smoother, faster, better sounding beast than I could have imagined. I love this truck and am truly happy with it. Highly recommended! PS, the kids love the extra room in the 3rd row over the Commander too. -Dev

Self-Driving Chrysler Pacificas a Realilty!

Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near St. Peters

It is an amazing time in the auto industry! There is now news that Google and Chrysler have paired up to create self-driving Chrysler Pacifica minivans! While you cannot get the autonomous Chrysler Pacifica at All Star Chrysler near St. Peters right now, (but who knows-it may be sooner than we think) we want to talk a little bit about what we heard about these self-driving Chrysler Pacifica minivans.

Fiat Chrysler and Google for the first time will offer rides to the public in the self-driving automobiles they are building under an expanding partnership.

The companies announced in the spring of last year that they would build 100 self-driving Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivans. Those vehicles have been tested in Arizona, California and Michigan. “Waymo, Google’s self-driving car project, said it will allow hundreds of people in Phoenix to take rides in the vehicles so that it can get feedback on the experience. People can apply on Waymo’s website. The company also said that it’s expanding its fleet to 500 Pacifica hybrids.”-driving.ca

Waymo said it wants to learn where people want to go in a self-driving vehicle, how they communicate with it and what kinds of information and controls they want.

Fiat Chrysler builds the Pacifica minivan in Windsor, Ontario, just across the border from Detroit. It adds Waymo’s self-driving software and hardware, including sensors and cameras, at a facility in Michigan. Fiat Chrysler’s U.S. headquarters is in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

“This collaboration is helping both companies learn how to bring self-driving cars to market, and realize the safety and mobility benefits of this technology,” said Waymo chief John Krafcik in a company release.

Here’s another rendering of what the 2019 Chrysler 300 may look like. (Sources are now saying the current versions will soldier on until they are replaced around 2020-21.) The Chrysler Portal was, we were told, a preview of new styling themes to come — perhaps replacing the relatively low-key Pacifica’s themes.”-allpar.com
