Customer Service You Can Count On

All Star Dodge Ram Jeep Chrysler near St. Louis

We all have had those bad customer service experiences. We recently had one at a well-known St. Louis area restaurant, and it really ruined our evening. We had had great service there before but that night, it was very poor. Consistency seems to be hard for businesses in the customer service industry as of late. There is one place where customer service never has any consistency issues, that place is All Star Dodge near St. Louis. We don’t just want you to take our word for it, we want to share with you some conversations that we recently had with real customers who have shopped at All Star.

This is the most professional dealership that I have ever dealt with. I knew what I wanted before I arrived, and it was delivered with an efficiency that is rare. From start to finish, I was there only 1 hour. From the initial paperwork, to credit check, to financing, to out the door. All was handled professionally. I want to especially give a shot out to Mindy Pluma. Her personality was awesome. -Sheri

Mr. John Horrell offers customer support, advice and solutions in meeting the needs of a customer, like myself. My satisfaction and loyalty to this dealership is based on trust, professionalism, knowledgeable and attitude. -Sam

Customer services is #1 to me. This will be my fourth car from All Star. At first I was thinking about going to a different dealership, but my mind told me, “Why would you do that when Renell always takes care of you?” If something isn’t broke then why try and fix it? Start to finish he always listens on what I want. I will never think about going to another dealership. All Star is family and loyalty goes along way. You’re the best! -Monica

Pickups are tough, beastly things that have grown beyond all practical proportion in recent years; Ram’s offerings perhaps especially so. The new HD models are looking like they’ll go even farther. That’s a good thing for most truck buyers, however. Towing, hauling, and apparently dominating the road are all on the capabilities list for the newest member of Ram’s fold.

One powertrain you can bet will be in the new HD models will be a 6.4-liter V-8 with 410 hp and 429 lb-ft. This is the option that should appear in a new generation of Ram’s 2500 Power Wagon. And for diesel fans there will be the 6.7-liter turbocharged inline-6 from Cummins. This unit supplies a monster 930 lb-ft. With so much twist, you’ll be able to haul well over 30,000 pounds.

“Pickup trucks are huge sellers for the Detroit 3 automakers, so though won’t want to rock the boat when designing a new one. In the first 10 months of the year, the entire light truck market is up 5.2 percent, with Ram selling 374,901 pickups. Even with the new models just around the corner, current sales of Ram’s pickups are up 3.8 percent on the same period last year.”-motorauthority.com

If you’ve enjoyed driving large sedans in the past, the 300C will not disappoint. This is a bit of a throwback when compared to larger cars today. There is more cushion on the road; it may even be considered a bit floaty over some bumps. Relaxed driving is rewarded with a nearly silent ride that does a good job of coddling the driver and passengers. It’s a joy on longer trips when the luxury car comes out. If you push the 300C, it responds nicely but expect some lean in tighter, faster corners.

This 300C drives like a larger car, so getting used to parking in smaller spaces takes a few minutes. The rear visibility isn’t the best because the back window is rather small. Fortunately, the rear view camera and front and rear park assist pretty much park the car for you. The fuel economy for this large car is on par for this class. “I managed 23.4 mpg in my 340 miles of mixed driving, a tiny bit better than the 23 mpg on the sticker. This tester has the V-6 engine which does a decent job of moving the big Chrysler. There is an optional V-8 I recommend you look at if you plan to have a full car on most of your trips.”-wtop.com

We’re Thinking Used Cars

Used Cars at All Star Dodge Ram near Creve Coeur

We have used cars on the brain today! Maybe it is because we are looking at the car our spouse is driving and thinking that it is time to get something different, but that we do not really have the budget to buy a new car. Luckily for us, All Star Dodge Ram near Creve Coeur has a huge selection of used cars and inventory specials that are just ripe for the picking! Today we want to take a look at some of the benefits of buying a used car.

Less Depreciation: New cars typically depreciate about 20 percent when they are driven off the lot. Most cars will lose another 10 percent in value during the first year. That’s a 30-percent loss in value during the initial year of ownership. A $30,000 car loses roughly $9,000 in value during that period. You can avoid that hit by buying a one-year-old used car. He cautions that one-year-old used cars are hard to come by, but it’s becoming easier to find two- and three-year-old used cars. Additionally, with the “right” used car, it’s possible for an owner to buy it, drive it and sell it with little loss in equity.

Less Insurance Costs: A key factor in determining the cost of car insurance is the value of the car. Because a used car has less value than a newer version, the cost of insurance should be less. Experts say that even more money can be saved because some elements of car insurance can be dropped. “Collision and theft: Once a car is old enough, you can do away with those if you choose,” Reed from Edmunds says.

Know the Jeep Patriot

Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Town and Country

The Jeep Patriot at All Star Jeep Dealer near Town and Country is a wonderful SUV that has a lot to offer its drivers and passengers. Today we want to share some information with you about the Jeep Patriot. After all, how can you love something if you don’t know about it?

In the U.S. the Patriot uses either the 2.0 L or 2.4 L gasoline I4 engine. Both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available. The Patriot features two four-wheel drive systems both of which are electronically controlled. The basic four-wheel drive system is called Freedom Drive I. This system is a full-time front-wheel-drive based 4WD/AWD system that is front-wheel-drive when it has traction, but can automatically put up to 20-30% power to the rear wheels, or can be locked in 50-50 below a certain speed. The other system, called Freedom Drive II, is based on Freedom Drive I, but by using the vehicle’s CVT transmission it is capable of a 19:1 gear reduction simulating a low range usually found in vehicles with dedicated transfer cases. The 2.4 L GEMA I4 is an option for the 4X2 model Patriot.

For Europe and Australia, a 2.0 L (1968 cc; 120 cid; 140ps) Volkswagen-manufactured diesel engine is fitted along with a 6-speed manual gearbox. All EU cars are fitted as standard with four wheel drive and a version of the Freedom Drive System that tuned differently from the U.S. versions, but with similar capability to FDII with brake traction control and three switchable electronic stability control and traction control settings for on or off-road use.

The Patriot won 2007 Green 4×4 Award and the 2008 4×4 of the Year in the UK. (This information was compiled from jeep.com and wikipedia.com.)

Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Jeep Grand Cherokee at All Star Jeep Dealer near Saint Charles

There are so many powerful and capable SUV models under the FCA umbrella that sometimes it can be hard to pick just one. Especially when you take into account just how man different trim options each SUV has to offer. Today we want to focus on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk edition.

“Dodge’s 707-hp Challenger and Charger Hellcat models are loud, instigate bad behavior, and can generate local, rubber-sourced cloud cover with merely a stab of their gas pedals. They’re the vehicular equivalents of a Daytona Beach spring-break hookup, the sort of ride that your dad might high-five you (behind Mom’s back) for buying. But what if there were a Hellcatted vehicle tame enough, relatively speaking, to bring home and introduce to Mother?”-caranddriver.com

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the third Fiat Chrysler vehicle to have the unhinged supercharged V-8 stuffed under its hood, and it’s the quiet Hellcat next door. Not literally, of course—have you heard a blown Hemi V-8 at full whack?—but with standard all-wheel drive mitigating the engine’s tire-spinning proclivities, plus its under-the-radar looks, the Trackhawk can at least pass for an upstanding citizen.

With more traction than any Hellcat yet, the Trackhawk has quite a lot of poke despite its pork—the engine adds 259 pounds over the already heavy 475-hp Grand Cherokee SRT. Nonetheless, Jeep claims it can reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Per Jeep, the quarter-mile is expected to fly by in 11.6 seconds (at 116 mph!), and, with no electronic governor, the Trackhawk is said to surrender to atmospheric resistance at 180 mph.

For more information on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, head to All Star Dodge Ram near Saint Charles. We are sure that you will want to take a test drive!

More 1500 Spy Shots!

Ram 1500 at All Star Dodge Ram near Clayton

When you are shopping for a great truck, you know that you need to check out the Ram truck lineup at All Star Dodge Ram near Clayton. We are super excited to share with you what we saw on some of the recent spy shots that were captured of what we think will be the new 2019 Ram 1500.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ money-making Ram 1500 truck is getting a major overhaul, this generation was introduced for the 2009 model year. We expect styling will be evolutionary and that Ram won’t follow Ford down the aluminum road, using a steel bed and primarily steel body panels. The truck in these spy photos is almost entirely covered in camo, but peering through it as best we can, it appears as if the grille will partially bleed into the headlights, an industry-wide design trend. These photos also show a massive cab, possibly indicating the introduction of the Mega Cab to the 1500 series (it previously has been available only on the heavy-duty models) or simply that the truck is getting bigger. There also have been rumors, stoked due to a patent filing in 2014, that this next-gen Ram would have a split-door tailgate, but no center seam is evident on this test truck.

“These shots provide a pretty clear look at the interior, highlighted by a massive squared-off UConnect infotainment screen. The redesigned climate controls feature a three-dial row beneath two radio knobs, and aeronautical-style switches can be seen at the bottom of the center stack. We also can see that Ram’s rotary gear selector survives the makeover.”-caranddriver.com

All About the Dodge Charger

Dodge Charger at All Star Dodge Ram near Kirkwood

We are huge fans of the Dodge Charger that is currently available at All Star Dodge Ram near Kirkwood. While we don’t expect a lot of changes for the 2018 model year, there still might be a few changes coming, we want to take a closer look at the Dodge Charger today.

The Dodge Charger (as a 2017 model) offers a number of engines including a 292-300-hp 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V-6 with 260-264 lb-ft of torque as a base model. Above that is a 370-hp 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V-8 with 395 lb-ft of torque. When 370 hp isn’t enough, go for the Charger SRT model that gets a 6.4-liter naturally aspirated V-8 with 485 hp and 475 lb-ft. Serving as a halo car enhancing the image of the entire lineup is the Charger SRT Hellcat model, which boasts an incredible 707 hp and 650 lb-ft from a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8.

The Dodge Charger might be refreshed for the 2019 model year, and a few years after that, a full redesign is possible. A redesigned Charger might be as much as 500 pounds lighter and even offer a turbo-four. “For those skeptical of a turbo-four-powered sedan like the Charger, keep in mind that many sedans and two-doors with turbo-fours have respectable 0-60 times, including the Audi A4 (5.3 seconds with all-wheel drive and an automatic), Chevrolet Camaro (5.2 seconds with a manual transmission), and Ford Mustang (6.3 seconds with a manual transmission).”-motortrend.com

We expect the 2018 Dodge Charger will mostly be a carryover model with few changes, except potentially for a special-edition model or two. In the next couple years, the Charger will likely receive another styling refresh to keep the model updated before a completely new model arrives years from now.

For more information or to take a test drive, head to All Star today. Their team would love to share more about the Dodge Charger!
